Summer is almost upon us! When it gets hot, people don't tend to think as much about knitting or crocheting a garment; but there are a lot of options available! Try using a fingering weight wool, or go with the tried and true cotton or cotton blends. We have looked around Ravelry to pull some options to get you thinking about summer garments!
A couple of Sport weight knitting patterns we have come across are Yume and Keane Wonder. Both would be great in either Amano Sami or Kelbourne Woolens Mojave. Yume by Isabell Kraemer is a seamless top-down sweater whereas Keane Wonder by Meghan Kelly is a racer back tank that is knit flat from the bottom up then pieced. Knitting and seaming the tank in pieces gives the linen or cotton some structure.
Rift Tee by Jacqueline Cieslak is a sport/DK weight pattern and is a favorite of Staff Member, Casey. It is knit from the bottom up and includes instructions for two necklines, optional bust darts, short or long sleeves, and a custom fit bicep. On the flip side, Anker's Summer Shirt by PetiteKnit is knit top down. Berroco Summer Silk and Corsica are great options for either top.
For crochet patterns, look at the Lime Berry Tee by Emilia Johansson. It calls for DK weight yarn, so anything from Malabrigo Verano to Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo would work great. Or cast on the Magnolia Tee by Michelle Ferguson. We like this one so much because it comes in sizes Toddler 2 to Adult 3X. It uses a sport weight yarn so it would be another great option for Amano Sami and Kelbourne Woolens Mojave.
